Mokiti Okada (1882-1955), founder of the religion
that originated the Messianic Church, proposed, in 1935, a system of
agricultural production that would take nature as its model: thus was
born the current known as "natural agriculture". |

Principles: According to Mokiti Okada, harmony and prosperity among living beings is a result of the preservation of the natural environment, in obedience to nature’s laws. Through the principle of recycling of natural resources present in a farm, the soil becomes more fertile by the beneficial action of microorganisms (bacteria, fungi) that decompose organic matter, liberating nutrients for the plants. Thus the soil, the food and the human being recuperate health and vitality. This is the principle: healthy soil = healthy plants and animals = healthy human beings, and it is valid for the natural current and for all other agroecological modalities of agriculture. |
